With an initiative to expand the reach of STEM programming to underrepresented students, IDEaS is partnering with the Summer Springboard Program to provide two local high school students with two full ride scholarships to the Summer 2023 Emergency Medicine & Medical Program at Simmons University. The Summer Springboard Program is an initiative tailored to give pre-college students awareness and knowledge of academic majors, career pathways, and the college selection process. Summer Springboard partners with leading organizations and institutions of higher learning from around the world to give students invaluable tools for success.

The workshops offered during the program span a variety of topic areas such as engineering and science, humanities, healthcare, media, and communications. The IDEaS scholarship aids students with a demonstrated financial need to ensure that economic barriers are eliminated. The Office of IDEaS champions mentorship, sponsorship as well as pipeline programming for underrepresented students and are eager to partner with the Summer Springboard Program to give young people greater access to opportunities that will enrich their personal and professional development to expand their future career prospects.   

We are reviewing applications until April 30^th, with award recipients to be announced on May 31^st. The two offered scholarships will be offered for placement during one of the summer terms between June 26^th – July 6^th and July 10^th –20^th.
